A little bit about me:

I love to tell people that I am a ‘Spanish chick from New York.  Need I say more?’  I am always tickled by what that means to each person.  Well, it’s true.  I am very proud of that.  I love the person that I am because of where I’m from!

Photography:

I went to F.H. La Guardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts.  Yes that’s a mouthful, so saying the “‘Fame’ School” is easier.  (And yes, students DO sing and dance in the hallways.)  I took beginner’s photography in my sophomore year and fell head-over-heels in love with it. We learned how to develop our own film, experiment with filters, and even test what happens when photography paper is exposed to the chemicals in the ‘wrong’ order. The advanced class in my senior year was even better. For a while I dabbled here and there with my camera, unsure of what I really wanted to take pictures of. Until now…

Work:

Only until the past handful of years, have I truly realized what I love to take pictures of.  I have always wondered: Are we good at what we like or is it because we like something, that we are good at it??  Either way, it’s been still life objects, for the most part.  I have taken helped take wedding pictures and engagement shots, but I love nothing more than to take pictures of food, wine, and the things that naturally accompany that.  Living near so many wineries has truly afforded me that opportunity and I am fully taking advantge of it.

Equipment:

Thanks to my darling husband, I have a Canon Rebel XTi with the base lens that came with it, plus my fantastic EF 28-135mm lens.  I also shoot a lot with my iPhone 5 and iPad.

Lastly:

Perusing through the site, really try and put yourself there in those restaurants or tasting rooms, vineyards and events…the smells and textures; the fun!  Check out the ’Links‘ section and get the information for the fantastic places that have lent themselves to these great shots.  I would also like to say THANK YOU to those that have been beyond helpful and supportive of me during this part of my venture…you know who you are so thanks again!
