~super delicious and very healthy cauliflower pizza. •: pre-made @traderjoes cauliflower crust, zucchini, fresh spinach and basil, baby bellas, smoked gouda, truffle oil, garlic powder, and salt & pepper.: layer sliced zucchini on crust and top with some smoked gouda. bake at 450 until the cheese is a little melted and the crust is starting to get brown. while that’s in the oven, sautéed baby bellas in truffle oil with garlic powder, salt & pepper. back to the pizza. add chopped spinach, some basil, and the rest of the cheese. bake until cheese is gooey (serious technical term ). garnish with sautéed mushrooms, remaining basil, and red pepper flakes. enjoy!#cauliflowerpizza #friendscreation #healthyfood #watchingprobowl #nomnomnom #ilovefood #ilovesmokedgouda #homecooks #brooklyn #brooklynhomecooks #canon #teamcanon

~remembering this incredible sous vide steak dinner @chefmattz made for a bunch of us out in the Hamptons a few weeks back. #chefmattz #collectedfoods #butcher #ribeye #steaks #longisland #hamptons PATIENT UPDATE – Jeremy is doing so incredibly well since the surgery. he had 1/2 pill of percocet the evening of his surgery, at the recommendation of his surgeon, despite the fact that he didn’t think he needed anything. other than that, he hasn’t needed any of pain pills, including even Tylenol! he has an appointment to see his surgeon for a follow-up on 1/31 where the sutures will be checked and then another cast will go back on for the last two weeks. after that, he will be in a walking boot. more to follow…CAREGIVER UPDATE – I started to get really sick almost immediately after Jeremy’s surgery was done. (I hear that’s a thing – to get sick after stress is gone). thankfully, I don’t have the flu, just some sinus issues which hopefully my prescribed inhaler and nasal spray (plus some OTC nasal decongestant and Advil) will fix. phew!

Jeremy’s blood clot is down by his ankle! this may not seem like much, but apparently when the clot is in the vein in the thigh area, it’s very dangerous. we don’t know how this happened but we are still very VERY happy about it. we do still feel the vascular specialist will want to implant the ICV filter but this is still wonderful news. we are off to see the surgeon tomorrow for a pre-op appt and then back to the vascular doc on Friday to do the implant. the surgery is scheduled for a week from today, 1/17. I have to say it’s the scariest thing in the world to go through this, but I do feel Jehovah helping me throughout. that, and with all of your prayers and well-wishes, I can do this. we can do this! love you all.
