We were able to make it to the Reserve Room yesterday to taste their new and (very) fun harvest menu. The entire menu revolved around chili cheese dogs. Come on now, who doesn’t love a chili cheese dog?!?
Course one: The Maharajah Chili and Cheese, No Dog which went with the 2011 Saralee’s Vineyard Viognier:
Then we had The “Chick-en a Blanket” paired with the 2012 Reserve Chardonnay:
We moved on to the 2009 Reserve Pinot Noir which was served along side The Cajun-A Blackened Dog and Chili, No Cheese:
We also received a plate to share with some seasoned broccoli rabe and tabouli and sliced potatoes. I got too excited that I only got a shot of the broccoli (see shot at the very bottom).
Our second round began with The Basquette Case-A Herded Dog, Chili, Cheese paired with the 2010 Reserve Malbec from the Duke’s Vineyard:
Then came the 2008 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Random Ridge which went perfectly with The Murican-A Beef Dog, some Beef Chili, and some cows milk cheese:
The last of the second course ended with the 2009 Reserve Zinfandel served along side the Californian-A Mixed Metaphor:
Lastly, our amazingly delicious meal came to an end with the Fini-A Chili Cheese Variant. That was served with the 2011 Late Harvest Geuwurztraminer:
As I mentioned to the ever-talented Chef Clayton after we finished our meal, this was definitely one of my favorites!! We’ve been members for years now, and this one took the cake! Good job Mayo Reserve Room and until next time.
