On a most recent trip to meet friends at a half-way spot between San Jose and San Luis Obispo, we decided Nepenthe Resturant would be perfect. It is located in Big Sur, off Highway 1. If you’ve ever visited this part of the country, you know it simply stunning. The restaurant is located right in the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Sitting on the back deck and depending on the day, you might actually have the clouds UNDERNEATH YOU as you eat!

I just wanted say great photos and that my grandparent’s started Nepenthe restaurant. I have a book forthcoming about growing up there, including the old stories, and recipes. But, why I thought I would write is because you say you went to the “Fame” school. My cousin Ben also went there, and after high school came to live in Big Sur and at Nepenthe, so it seems a fitting place to experience life as an artist and to meet friends between 2 places.
